A perfect gites to enjoy the Champagne region and, unlike many, v comfortable. Highly recommended.

Points positifs : Great location close to Epernay. Very quiet village with a boulangerie/grocery store/restaurant and champagne bar all in the High Street. Great cycling routes nearby/well marked and, of course, plentiful champagne. Property was v spacious for 6 people and well designed. Bedrooms and shower rooms comfortable and simple.

Points négatifs : The British need to be aware that opening times of shops/bars and restaurants are a law unto themselves, but basically 12-2 pm seems to be the best timeframe for eating and drinking. Sometimes it feels the villages lack a little sparkle, but it is made up for by the people who are always friendly, polite and helpful.

Points positifs : We were the first to stay, so we were taking a bit of risk as to how it would turn out. Turns out it is newly renovated, all nice and comfortable, and Fanny was a great host. She even surprised us with some Easter gifts! Place is spacious, rooms comfortable, parking on the street outside the house is convenient. There are 3 rooms, 2 with queen beds and one with 2 twin beds. We did not want to stay at the bigger city like Reims and this place was perfect for us. Unfortunately the local wineries were closed that weekend but there is a local pub Munificence just down the street with a great host where you can find all the local champagnes. The place also serves food. Local boulangerie is also just a short walk away. Riems is also only 10 minutes drive away so it's easy to go for the big labels and the other conveniences in the bigger city. Loved our stay.
